Book Review: Trending in Love by Pankaj Dubey

About the Book
Sanam is a carefree, but headstrong young girl. A spat with a politician's son pushes her to take up a big challenge-to become an IAS. At the same time, a small-town boy, Aamir, is nudged into studying for the civil services too. Their hard work pays off when both become rank holders.
And soon their lives come together at the IAS Training Academy, Mussoorie. Love blossoms, but when they decide to spend their lives together, all hell breaks loose. Their religious difference becomes a reason for clashes between the two communities, social media explodes and things take a dangerous turn.
It seems hate has triumphed over love. What will be Sanam and Aamir's fate?
A heady mix of dreams and desire, this is a story of undying love in the face of our society's most dangerous beliefs.
My Take on the Book
Trending in Love by Pankaj Dubey is a fast-paced romantic novel about Sanam, a young and bright girl, and Amir from Kupwara who has a happy desk job. Both the characters find themselves preparing for the IAS entrance exam, and they both have their agenda in securing the position.
After the exam, Amir and Sanam secured a position, they ended together at a training academy in Mussorie, and that’s where the chemistry unfolds. From love blooming to the relationship taking a turn when it involves family, politics, and religion. I won’t be revealing much about the plot line, but all I can say is that it is a gripping read which will surely keep you engrossed.
The book is written in simple language thus you will be able to catch up with the story. If you are someone who enjoys a good romance novel, then you will love this one.
The author has created the characters in a very interesting way, and the plot is perfectly crafted. Usage of strong vocabulary and language is a plus point of the book.
What attracted me to this book was the fact that the book will soon be turned into a web series, and I am a huge fan of books adapted for screen work. Now I will be patiently waiting for the series and will judge how much justice it has done to the book. In the meantime, you can pick a copy today to explore the story which involves politics, romance and social issues, a mix of all this makes the perfect read when you are quarantined.

Ahaglow Face Wash Review

Tried and Tested! For the past two months, I went through a very bad acne outburst phase. And when I say bad, it means BAD. So, with my knack for researching, I googled trying to find a cure or maybe at least some home remedies to treat my acne. But, a multiple trial and error and I gave up.  We know how pimple popping is more than just satisfying, hence the 'habit' left me with very bad scares on my forehead and chin, also I noticed more acne than I had in the first place.  Finally, a visit to my dermatologists came to my rescue. She prescribed  some medication i.e. face wash (I am coming to this), some anti-acne ointments, and a few capsules to take.  Obviously, I had to religiously follow the skin routine treatment, but in the hour of everything, there was this thing which I discovered… it was the face wash (Yep, the point of this blog, TBH) which I can give the entire credit to. AKA presenting to you my fountain of youth in a face wash (I am exaggerating a lil bit.) Ahaglow.…

Killing Time in Delhi by Ravi Shankar Etteth: Book Review

About the Book Bon vivant Charlie Seth, a privileged denizen of Lutyens’ Delhi, leads a life of idle luxury fuelled by money, drugs, sex, and parties. A cocaine overdose kills his ditzy girlfriend, thrusting him into a maelstrom of conspiracy, murder, blackmail, and promiscuity. As the world of Crazy Rich Punjabis unravels, Charlie’s future is suddenly at the mercy of an enigmatic woman, an unscrupulous swami, a society-obsessed policeman, a slippery drug pusher and a disloyal valet. The only person who can help him is his missing aunt. Holed up in the country palace that his grandfather had won in a game of cards from a raja on Diwali, Charlie plots his revenge. Killing Time in Delhi is a brutally funny look into the shenanigans of Delhi’s ultrarich who live in the fast lane and are high on hypocrisy, borrowed money, and dubious deals.
My Take on the Book You may be wondering, 'if the title of the book is really about 'Killing Time in Delhi?' then,  yes, it is. Also, it is ab…

Book Review: Can a Girl and a Boy be Just Friends?

“He knows everything about her, right from her favorite books to her favorite bra. She knows everything about him, right from his favorite soccer club to his favorite x rated websites. He will complete her English homework, even at three in the night. She will arrange an Armani suit for him, even if it calls for flirting with ugly guys. He has her picture in his wallet. She has his number on speed dial. They talk to each other all the time. They talk about each other when they don't talk to each other. They discuss everything from periods to PlayStation. They have tasted alcohol and then thrown up...together. They have bunked countless tuitions... together. They can’t live without each other. YET they don't love each other. They are JUST FRIENDS...”
Can they be just friends? I mean a Boy and a Girl? This is a universal quest everyone is trying to find seek. Some say they can, while the rest says it's not possible. I am asking you this because the title of the book I will be re…
